Smith's Control Gel is a clear gel developed as a dilutant for Smith's Color Floor and/or Smith's Color Wall when installations require crisp lines and product control. Simply mix the Control Gel with Smith's Color Floor/Color Wall concentrate to achieve the desired color transparency. Apply the ready to use gelled stain via foam brush, sea sponge, towel or traditional bristle brush to a properly prepared substrate. A variegated or natural appearance is achieved through the various absorbencies of the surface as well as the accumulation of color pigments. An applicator can use traditional Smith's Color Floor/Color Wall stains for larger areas while applying the Control Gel diluted stain for the more technical areas.

Recommended dilution is 1 part Color Floor or Color Wall concentrate to 4 parts Smith's Control Gel. If more transparency is desired, increase the amount of Control Gel in the ratio. Do not exceed a ratio of 8 parts Control Gel to 1 part stain concentrate. If installation is exposed to surface wear, this system requires a top coat; Smith's Seal WB, Smith's WB Polyurethane and Smith's Polyurethane SB are recommended low VOC film forming sealers.
